auto trans rebuild for gtcrispy Kevin

Post by ssspoon@aol.com »

No Subaru won't rebuild your trans, but they will sell you a remanufactured
one for five large. Since that's about half the value of my car I started
looking, encouraged by someone in Washington state that had found a little
mom and pop shop to rebuild his. I found a little old guy from Japan that
could hardly speak English running an auto trans shop that could answer all
the questions I already knew the answers to before I asked, that I had been
using to feel people out with. He did my trans for a grand over a year ago
and it still kicks like new. First I suggest you find a Subaru dealer with
an auto trans diagnostic unit and pay to find out what their computer says is
wrong. Not all dealers have them. Then start looking for shops that
specialize in Japanese auto trans. If you have a turbo keep in mind the
turbo trans is different from all the other Subaru auto trannys if you are
going to look for one. If you are going to look for a rebuild and don't mind
going out of state I have most confidence in Colorado Component Rebuilders
(CCR) in Denver. A rebuilt with warranty for less than some salvage yards
will sell you used. 303-293-9230 http://www.ccrengines.com This info may

Thanks for the help. My dad has a checked around to a few places however I'm not quite sure what the plan is. I believe he is having hte engine checked out to see if its in good enough shape for having the transmission replaced to be worthwhile. You guys are great.

Kevin
