I never did snip the bracket. Personally, I'd rather just bleed the breaks, it's an opportune time to do it. But I guess snippin that bracket would help with making sure no air get's reintroduced into the system.

clip the brake like bracket, through the middle, it will make them a hell of
a lot easier to install and to remove further down the road.
