ok so i fabbed up an intake leak tester (rad hose, pvc end cap, and tire valve), i clamped it onto the turbo inlet and capped off the hose after the intercooler before the throttle body
but I was not able to pressurize it at all. i sat there for a very long time with a bike pump. yes i'm sure the air is going in but it is obviously going out somewhere before there is a chance for it to pressurize. should i be capping off any vacuum lines? the bov is closed when the engine is off right? or is it open by default until there is enough pressure to close it?
my leak isn't that big as it does not make the car idle rough and i can't hear it until i'm at 5 psi or so and i can still get a steady-ish 10 psi. so i can't believe my leak is causing me to have this problem.
what should be capped off/blocked off for me to be able to pressurize the intake to test it?
thanks
-Alex

you should definitely get your exhaust done with that much psi, it'll really de stress your engine, the nipple on your turbo outlet should be capped though, try spraying soapy water on all spots around your intake system that your testing and if there is a leak bubbles will start to build

yeah i'll do my exhaust if i ever have the money cuz that aint cheap or easy, old cars have old rusty bolts that dont want to come off
and if i do it i'm not going to half ass it i'm going to do the whole thing
just not sure if its worth it yet
i know about the soapy water thing thats how i find tire leaks
i just need some kind of pressure to build up first i didnt know i had to cap off the turbo nipple so i will try that.
thanks alot
