EJ22T oil cooler

Post by ssspoon@aol.com »

The oil cooler on the US version EJ22 Turbo Legacy only came on the MY91 car.
There is an adapter between the oil filter and the pump with lines to the cooler.
The later model years didn't get one.
This has always been a source of curiosity to me.

On our OZ versions the cooler between the filter and the filter body was connected to the cars radiator cooling system.

EJ22T oil cooler

Post by acroxford@hypermall.net »

Larry if you are talking about that thing with the fins that bolted
on
between the filter and the pump they had a few problems with some of
them like blowing a water oil mixture out of the radiator in a rather
spectacular display. That is probably why it was only around for one
MY.
