Purge Valve Code 35
So, I'm just curious...... If I replace the purge valve and I still get error code 35, what do I do next? What else in the purge system could be wrong?

I'd suggest clearing the ECU memory with the green & black connector method vs. just unplugging the power from the ECU.
For some reason that code is a difficult one to get rid of.

The other week I replaced the purge valve solenoid thingamajiggy. I took the advice of others on this forum and relocated it. Blackbart supplied the working solenoid. He's a great source of parts!
I relocated it to the passenger side strut tower. I took out the snorkel and a few hoses to gain access to the area, cut the wires to the old solenoid, extended the wires to the new solenoid and voila!
NO MORE CEL!!!!!

Yes this thread is a bit old. It's a good starting point for my problem.
I am getting a check engine light, code 35 - Purge Solendoid. 91 Legacy.
Does not happen on a cold start. Or, while driving after a cold start. It only occurs when started warm.
I checked the valve by blowing air through it. It's open when the key is off. Closed when the engine is running. And, it does not open when the engine is at temperature and appreciable RPM.
So, the valve is OK. But, why is the ECU not opening the valve?

What you should do is apply 12v to the solenoid through the connector and see if you hear it click.
The solenoids will sometimes work, and sometimes not work. They just age.
Other thing to check is the wiring from the solenoid to the ECU. Make sure it has continuity with a multi-meter.
If that's fine, just replace the solenoid. As I mentioned, they tend to get flakey when they get old.
