I hate to be the devils advocate here, but I've never had a tensioner piston go bad on several cars and several 100's of thousands of miles. Now if we are talking about the bearing/cam part, thats a different story...

The one on the wifes OBS was bad too & the timing belt jumped a tooth or 2.
I found out when I had to change the t-belt + all front seals - I had a fresh tensioner ready for use so all was well.

The new style 1 piece tensioner on my OBS-T was fine when I did the T-belt + all front seals a couple of weeks back.

Mine went bad and left me stranded at a gas station in winter. Seemed good when I put it in maybe 10k earlier.

at least your other engine is probably rebuildable. Two of my blocks have rather large holes from rods. The last one looked like the wrist pin pulled the back off of the piston before smashing everything else.

And then I ran out of money... again...

Then I got some.... and I got the headgaskets....

Then I lost my job....

So.... Andy replaced the headgaskets for me!

And shes back!!!!!!!

I'm soooo happy.... so much more enjoyable to drive than the FWD.... and this engine is much smoother than the old one, and once it takes off (it has some hesitation right now) it pulls very nicely... I guess thats the difference between 120 Compression and 165 compression!

haha

As far as the hesitation goes, check all of your vacuum lines!

Yeah, its obviously in MUCH better shape than the other one...

This car is funny because its basically my old car...

Engine
Tranny
Turbo
Seats
Rest of Interior minus carpet
Stereo
Speakers
Brakes
Alternator
Clutch
Intake Assembly

Now I'm just waiting for the rear diff to shit its pants.

So yeah, my old '93 lives on!

Oh and did you guys know that the MY92 and MY93 Intake Manifolds are different?

The two middle bolts on both sides that hold the manifold to the heads are lifted up... and so the spark plug wire brakets dont work... lol

Minor differences, but noticable when you swap shit.
