door locks (Alarm install)
They are electronic, but you will need door actuators. The locks are sorta weird, so you will need those actuators.

door locks (Alarm install)
I just went through the same scenario. The power locks are a
master/slave arrangement. The driver's door lock is actually entirely
manual and does not work with remote entry systems unless you get a
servo with appropriate relays installed. There are apparently a
number on the market, but not all fit in the space available. It's
also tricky to feed the wires to the servo through the rubber boot
that contains all of the wires that go in to your door. In my case,
the local Subaru dealer was the best source for the servo install -
the local alarm shops didn't have a clue. Your mileage will vary
however since in this case, the local dealer also does alarm
installations on new and old Subarus. By the way, the servos and
associated relays aren't overly expensive - about $50 Canadian,
however the labour charges can be very significant since it can take
an hour or two to install. Good luck.

door locks (Alarm install)
I don't know what to do....
One of the alarm shops here will install my alarm but he told me that it needs an actuator. He was going to charge me $75 plus $50 install for it. I asked if i can get my own ($3-10) and he said thats ok i will have to pay $50 for install on the unit. So will that work... just the actuator will do the trick?

yes, actuator is actuator as long as it will work with the alarm you are installing, and it will fit in the space provided. I had the same option to install actuator with my alarm, but opted not to. That price was about the same to install....I think they wanted another 100 bucks....at the time....I was like....nah...
