Simple, if you have a N/A Subaru do a KN drop in
filter or a kit that replaces factory airbox and a KN
cone filter, Unorthodox lightweight pulley, and that's
about it. Maybe consider a exhaust sytem from MRT
Rally but I don't know if it would be worth it much.
www.spomotorsports.com has the pulleys at the best
price and come with the belts.
KN drop in filters can be found at most auto parts
stores. SPO also has the air intake kits. See Josh
Columbo's web page at
http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/subaru.html
for loads of good info. If you have a turbo legacy do
the same as above plus an exhaust for sure. MRT sells
one and there is also a Group Buy from a company
called Subspeed going on right now for a 3" exhaust
system that I'm sure someone else will mention.
www.mrtrally.com.au is MRT's site. They have plenty
of retailers in the states though but most their
product can be found on their site. If turbo consider
an intercooler, boost controller, and blow off valve
too. Good Luck.

Josh Colombo

I would stay away from the cone filters. They suck air from the hot engine bay, which isn't very desirable. I do have this now on my 90 Legacy. I'm looking to go one of two routes. The first is to get a k&n drop in filter, and add an additional inlet at the bottom of the air box so I can get more air flow into the box, but still be getting cold air.

The other option would be to try and find a used cobb cold air intake, and hack it up so I can put the MAF sensor inline.

The cheapest route is obviously the drop in panel, however if I can pick up a cobb intake for around $150-$180 or so, I'd probably go that route.....the results may be better....but without actually testing them against each other.....it'd be hard to say.
