Forced Air Technologies Turbo Kit
Rod has used the stage 3 turbo with a stage 1 kit....
He would be able to give you some feedback. His Legacy wagon is just nuts......
I am/will be looking into the stage 2 kit for my 90 legacy. Probably won't happen till either late winter or next year.
But from what Rod has said of him, and what I've talked with him, he's an extremely knowledgable guy and knows his stuff about turbos

Forced Air Technologies Turbo Kit
The main difference between the systems are as follows: roller bearing turbo vs. standard, slow-spooling turbo--custom up and down pipes--hi-flow cat(s)--comes standard with an FMU and blow-off valve. I have the Stage I kit (non-intercooled) with a proper size Stage III turbo and some other mods to make it all work. One of my friends has a `91 turbo sedan that is`nt anywhere near as fast as mine. Opinion? The Forced Air kit simply works better. If you already have a satisfactory set-up from Subaru, you might want to just upgrade your system; it`ll be cheaper and you`ll get more bang-for-the-buck. Hope this helped---ROD (AZ.)

Josh-it`s a fuel management unit (RRFPR)-Vortech has a Super FMU, also. You adjust the fuel pressure change with a screwdriver rather than changing discs in the unit like mine. Go & fart no more....ROD

Forced Air Technologies Turbo Kit
Larry-the stock exhaust manifold ends at an angle with the first cat right there; I run Borla headers where the collector is parallel to the front of the car. From there, it`s an easy mandrel bend into the up-pipe. Then, the down-pipe comes down and directly into my custom exhaust. Remember, all this was done on the car specifically for my application. I don`t have the foggiest how you`d do it with a stock manifold.
