Guy - I have a second sensor in my exhaust in addition to the O2 sensor.
It's about halfway down the downpipe. Nut size is 15mm (or was it 13?).
Any idea what this does?? Car is 91 GT wagon (Japanese import).

Exhaust sensor
I would assume it is another O2 sensor.
I know the newer OBDII computers have an O2 pre-cat converter and post cat converter. It takes readings and compares them to make sure the cat converter is running efficiently.
It could be an aftermarket exhaust gas temp sensor.....not sure.

Exhaust sensor
Thanks Josh - to be honest I haven't really followed the sensor to see where it goes (was having a mare fitting an exhaust!). I suspect it's not another O2 sensor cos my car is pretty ancient! I want to fit an EGT gauge so it would be handy if one was already in there and just disconnected. Car didn't seem to mind running with it disconnected.
