Tail lights stay on
Ok people, I just finish putting my engine and my dash in. I relocated the battery in the back and grounded it to one of the bolts that is used for the jack bracket. Now when the light switch is off and the key is out with the switch in the off position the tail lights stay on till I disconnect the battery. There are a few more connectors under the dash that are not connected but it doesn't look like it has anything to do with the lights from the wire schematics. Any help is appreciated and if need pics just ask and I can get them.

first of all you know about the switch on top of the column I assume. That being ruled out:
1. Is it your brake lights or your parking lights that are remaining on?

thanks for the reply magicmike. My friend told me about the brake switch. when i pushed it down the lights got brighter but when I unplugged it the lights turn off. Seems like the switch was shorting out I guess. thanks again XD

The brake circuit is not the same as the parking light circuit so what you describe sounds strange to me. Are you talking about the plug right at the brake pedal?Skruyd wrote:thanks for the reply magicmike. Because the lights were dim and then got bright when I pushed the brake pedal down I figured it was the parking lights that were staying on. But it was the brake lights that were on. Sorry about the confusion.magicmike wrote:The brake circuit is not the same as the parking light circuit so what you describe sounds strange to me.
