One thing to consider is fuel as well though..
We get 98 octane premium unleaded here.. Last time I was on holiday in the
usa, i was surprised at how low the fuel octane was.. about 91 octane or
something for premium, and 80-something for standard unleaded? (Is that
right? sorry, it was a while ago)
I read thru the handbook for the V8 ute we had hired, and was surprised at
how low its engine output was rated compared to cars back home.
I think the Liberty was tuned for 95 RON (about 96 octane?) fuel here.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine the US-spec of the car would put out
more power if it was tuned to run on high-octane fuel.. So not all of the
differences in performance are in engine differences?
(Although the fuel would only account for a little bit of difference)
I could be wrong.. but just thought i'd throw that in.
