Difference between 91 and 92+ ECU to engine plugs?

Headlights to tailights and everything in between.

Difference between 91 and 92+ ECU to engine plugs?

Post by n2x4 »

Hey Guys,

I'm working on my wiring swap and I've been using the 92 FSM scans that Josh has on his site. My wiring to the engine harness uses the 3 square plugs vs. the 92+ 2 square and 1 round plug. Is the pinout in the round plug different?

Does anyone have the square plug pinout?

Not sure.

Use these

Those actually have everything and not just the engine.

Minor update:

Not only is the one plug different, but so are the wire colors in the rest of the plugs. You can't use the 92 FSM to wire the engine plugs on a 91 EJ22T. With that said however:

90-91 Engine plugs are the same

92+ Seem to be the same

I found this out while pinning out my 95L Impreza swap. There's still 2 wires I'm not sure about, as neither FSM's include a pinout. I may have to get a wire tone generator to figure out where these go on the engine...

It's the 14 pin plug, wires 9 & 10. They physically exist, but not according to the FSM.
