Front passenger side seatbelt problem

ok, my wife is a big girl and her seatbelt is, well, snug...besides the obvious answer, what can we do?? the car is a 93 legacy wgn. the folks at soa said the extender belt for the 93 rhd postal wgn would work, nope, it doesnt. so, now what?

Get a set of rear seat belts from a parts car, cut the strap off of one and take it to an upholstery sho and have them stitch it together at the appropriate length as needed.... ???
