I've been doing some data logging with EvoScan and the revtronix stage 2 chip. Tonight, I focused on the ECU knock parameters, "long term slow" and "long term fast". Anyways, sometimes while on boost (~11 PSI), the ECU was logging a knock retardation of 3-4 degrees. Granted, I'm using the 93 octane setting on the stage 2 chip and only feeding it 92 octane, so that might be part of the problem.
I noticed that the first half of my drive, occasionally knock retardation would occur. Near the end of the drive, it was no longer doing knock retardation, due to the ECU learning/adapting. Is this learned thing maintained from start to start, or only per each session? Anything seriously wrong with the ECU retarding the timing a few degrees while on boost? Anything to look out for?
