High Idle does not drop after engine reaches operating temp.

Post by vica153 »

Ok I just got done installing my AWIC setup and everything is working fine, except now its idling really high ~2000rpm.

It had always idled a pretty high ~1750, but then once engine temp got up idle would drop down to the normal ~800.

The battery was disconnected for a week or so while I was installing the AWIC. I reconnected everything and it started up fine. I let it idle for 10min while inspecting the AWIC lines. It reached operating temp, the fans came on, but the idle stayed at 2k. I turned it off, then started it back up, some little throttle blips, still 2k idle.

I disconnected the battery for a few hours and then tried it again, still the same.

I was expecting to find a vacuum leak, but can't find anything. I'm wondering if I'd bumped some sensor wires loose somewhere....

Working with an EJ22T here all stock wiring/ECU, running fine previously, no CEL

Check all of the plugs on the sensors. Somehow I accidentally disconnected the plug from the TPS when I was doing my TMIC install and it idled at about 2,000 RPM until I found that it was disconnected. Check EVERYTHING. Lol.

Doh! I had pulled the throttle cable around the brake fluid reservoir to keep it out of the way when messing with the AWIC. It was holding the throttle open a millimeter or two. Alls well that ends well! :-D

Now with 100% more intercooler!!
