Part Number for EJ25D T-Belt tensioner

Post by turboleg »

So I've finally got this engine rebuilt and back in the car. As I'm putting on the timing belt I couldn't help but notice how much slack is in the belt after the pin was removed from the tensioner. I am able to move the tensioner with my hand up and down. So I am in need of a new tensioner for the old EJ25D. When I look at Subaru Genuine Parts they list two items named tensioner and tensioner adjuster. Further complicating the issue, they show the EJ22 horizontal style tensioner in the picture.

Anyone have a PN for the T-belt tensioner.

Here are the cars stats if it helps:
98 Legacy outback
EJ25D

Thanks in advance.

subarupartsforyou.com is a good website to use for a drill-down style part search. They have diagrams and/or photos for almost everything.

Single part tensioner is 13033AA042

...and Subaru was nice enough to ship the Tensioner pre-loaded. They managed to save me the step of putting exactly the right amount of force on the pin...yada yada. This is why I love this make.
