1990 ECU work w/'93 Legacy Airbags?

Do I need a 93 ECU to properly work w/the airbags on a '93 Legacy?

I used my '90 ECU left over from my swap on my '93 Donor (put the 2.2 NA in it).

The AIRBAG light stays on longer than any of the other dash lights after starting the car, but does go off.

NO CEL's, and runs well, but want to ensure the airbags are still functional.

I thought the airbags had their own control module.

Does the ECU even have anything to do with the airbags?

Yeah, the airbags are controlled by a separate unit.

You really shouldn't have anything to worry about unless the light stays on longer than 10 seconds after startup.

What injectors are you using? Are you using the ones that are meant to match up with the 90 ECU, or the ones from the 93?

Seconding the other comments - the airbags are controlled by a seperate unit located on the drivetrain tunnel under the center/radio trim.

With regards to Josh's question - he is correct about the injectors and such. If it turns out you need 93' injectors or need a 93' NA ECU I may be able to help you out...

Small side note - you were missed Sunday at the Auto-X. People apparently took note of the wagon and your driving on Sat. (in a good way ).

'90 injectors w/the '90 ECU. I swapped the entire engine intact (except for the harness). Is there a functional difference w/the '93 NA injectors? I thought they were just different style and fuel rails?

There is apparently some difference. I ran 92 injectors with a 90 AT ECU and the engine ran on the rich side.

There's probably a slight difference in the injector dead times, which may cause that.
