ENGINE CUTOUT

Post by funky7031 »

Just completed an engine conversion from a japanese wrx half cut
(1994 model-manual) into a legacy touring wagon (1992-auto). Every
thing seems to be working fine except the engine sometimes cuts
out/flat spot when in 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear when you drive with your
foot flat to the floor. It always seems to happen between 4500 &
5000 RPM's and then is fine again after 5000 RPM's. Ran a diognostics
on the car which came up with error code number 43 (which does not
seem to exist). If anyone has any ideas on what it might be I would
appreciate to hear as I am sick of almost going through the
windscreen everytime it happens.

regards L.M.

ENGINE CUTOUT

Sounds like fuel. When my tank is near finished it will cut out when going around a corner. Not saying you are out of fuel, but you might not be supplying enough to your engine.
