Old Hood Questions.
OK as this should instill confidance in all who are in for the
hoods.(sarcasum) i have a question about hood differances. I know
we have gone over this ALL before last year.. but i just want to
make sure,,
A couple very very nice people took to the experiment and tried to
swap a 92-94 hood onto a 91 car or visa, versa. but anywho it
turned out that it could NOT be done between model changes.
What i forgot or don't know if this was found out was major
differances between same model year 90-91 hoods . What if any is
the differance between an 90-91 N/A hood and a 90/91 Turbo hood.
other than the obvious scoop hole.?
I'm just trying to weed out any fitting problems now before people
start laying down money.

Old Hood Questions.
Dave,
We didn't try a '90 - '92 switch. Your statement about the '91 - '93 switch
is correct (I should know my '91 donated it's hood for the experiement)
there are some slight differences between the later '93 - '94 model year and
the earlier '90 - '92 MY. Later hoods were shorter by about an inch and does
not dip between the headlights. The hood latch pin is longer on one or the
other - not sure which but it's a replaceable part. Ultimately the geometry
differences foiled the plan...
So are there any owners in Seattle posessing a '90 and a '92 MY that would
like to have a hood swap *ahem* three way with my MY '91?

Dave,
We didn't try a '90 - '92 switch.

It thought they switched it up in '93? Am I wrong? Or did they change the tail lights in '93?
Confused.

Old Hood Questions.
Can the headlights/tail lights from '92-'94 be put in a '90-'91 car
w/o having to retrofit?

Old Hood Questions.
Nope. The 90-91 rear tail lenses are taller. The 90-91 head lamps are a little taller and angled up slightly on the outer edge.

Old Hood Questions.
My understanding is no. I believe there are significant enough
differences in shape/sheet metal to make it not plug and play. Of
course, anything is possible.
