Are any ej25d parts an upgrade for an ej22na?
I've got all kinds of surplus ej25d stuff lying around and wondered if there's any bolt-on performance gains to be had for my ej22na (ie. intake, injectors, coil, exhaust, any sensors that might be superior). What kind of power gain do you get from EL headers? I noticed my '98 parts car has equal length factory pipes on it.

For that matter, anything else on my '98 OB parts car an upgrade for my '94 GT? Already grabbed the rear sway bar and planning to snatch the front brakes.

Equal length header would be about the only thing I'd consider swapping over.

I think the EJ25D is only compatible with phase 1 DOHC heads. I could be wrong though.

The single best part off an Ej25D that would be an upgrade for an Ej22 would be the block itself. That's the "high compression frankenstein".
As for other stuff, not really unless it's substantially lower mileage than the parts already on the car. If the car needs a timing belt and you can't afford new oil pump and water pump, but have a low mile Ej25D part there, throw it on the car. You can also save money with used idler pullies but you've got to be sure to test them thoroughly first. Basically, there's lots of stuff you can use if yours is worn out, but it would be false to call any of the newer parts better than the original parts. They would just be newer.

Thanks fellas, good info. Is the "Frankenstein" simply the 2.5 block with all the other 2.2 parts bolted on or is it more than that?

I apologize for this, but do a search for "Frankenstein motor" and you'll get a lot of information.
The long and short is that the 2.5 short block married to the 2.2 heads creates a very nice high compression ratio engine. You have to run premium gas, or atleast is highly recommended, but it puts out substantially more power.
There are some issues with this setup and not something to do without doing a little reading first. But it is a proven combo and there is a lot of information about it.

Interesting. All this time I thought the term frankenstein was just used to describe any engine with different heads/block and other parts.
