Intake Bolt Torque Specs. Is this right?

Intake Bolt Torque Specs. Is this right?

According to this diagram from the FSM it shows that the outside bolts are 25 ft lbs of torque but the inside bolts are only 5.1 ft lbs of torque? That sounds crazy.

Is this the same for the DOHC intakes with the bolt holes in a straight line?

Nobody has any idea about this? I know people here have removed their intakes before and torqued the bolts down after putting it back on.

For me those are "till it feels right" bolts. Non-critical, but don't strip them.

When in doubt use the diagram.

lol I feel you. My friend's step dad is a diesel mechanic and works on diesel engines and generators all day long. He always goes by feel. My friend told me his step dad is like the human torque wrench lol. He goes by feel every time.

I'll go by feel too, I feel more comfortable that way on some things after stripping out some of the bolt holes on my oil pump on my metro using the torque wrench and having to drop the motor and helicoil them all.

I'm not afraid to torque anything in cast iron or steel but on aluminum...it's so soft.

x10 on feel,unless your "feel" is crappy.

They're all torqued the same, 18.1 +/- 1.4.
