I have been dealing with an ever worsening idle problem that I narrowed down to the IAC.
So I pulled it off to replace it and found a pool of oil on the intake manifold side of where the IAC mounts. This, I assume, is not normal. Where did this come from and what do I do to fix it?
My guess is the PCV valve needs replacing. What do you think?
Oil in the IAC valve.......What!?!?!

Unfortunately, I'd say what you found is relatively common. There's going to be oil in your intake manifold. from the PCV system. Plus the PCV valve is right above the IAC valve.
You can help minimize it with making sure the PCV valve is new, and maybe a catch can. The oil dripping down could have caused the valve to become sticky or similar.
