Oil pump leak

Post by ericem »

Hey guys need to drop this motor in ASAP like hopefully this friday! Want to get the few oil leaks sorted out. I will be replacing valve covers seals, rear cam support gaskets, and oil drain hose, TD04 turbo etc. All hoses seem nice and soft! Water pump and belt and idlers appear to be new for a EJ22T out of a 92 legacy wagon.

Yuk. Looks like it's just that seal though. That's a pretty quick and easy fix.
Cheers,

You might want to consider replacing the cam seals too. They aren't torqued very tight so it should be easy to break them loose. Pull the gears off, replace seals, done! Easy and cheap insurance. The seals are about $8 each at the dealer. I'd recommend OEM seals from the dealer, I've had non-OEM seals leak after 35,000 miles.
