Display Link

Post by Legacy777 »

I ended up picking up the Display Link a couple weeks ago. I finally got it wired in yesterday. It's a pretty cool dash like display. I'm not sure where exactly I'm going to mount it. So I'm open for ideas if anyone has any. Here's some pictures.

On a side note, but kind of related, I wired an output on Link to the automatic transmission display selector's "N" position in the gauge cluster as a "knock light". You can program the Link ECU to activate that output above any preset level of knock, and even can setup to do so only above a certain RPM.

I definltely like the G4 platform over the previous G3 platform. It's much more configurable.

Very nice. Now I'm jealous.

If I had the extra cash, I'd get the DashDAQ once they get the Link datastream figured out. At the end of the day it would be about $1100, or more

It's basically a customizable gauge setup that ties into the Link ECU. It will display any parameter that the Link ECU has in it. It also can be configured for warning limits, boost, rpm, etc. It has 30 minutes of logging capability and playback of data.

They say that Link is a "pending" standalone in their lineup. Derek isn't the most happy with his since the available data isn't as useful as it could be.

The Display Link is about what, $600? I might do that since I can display anything I want to, and have everything else under wraps from the Zeitronix, and other gauges.

Damn, the price of fun just went up.

They were asking six, but that was two years ago.

Yeah I've noticed the price of some of the toys I previously purchased has gone up. Not fun.

I ended up picking up a camera mount, Panavise 810 that works pretty well. I just made a small bracket out of lexan to connect the two.

Here's pics of the mount.

Here's the mount I got from panavise. They do make some others, but this is what I could find locally.

I still would like something a little more permanent, but this will work until I get something figured out.
