Aftermarket Knock Detection System - Opinions?

Post by skid542 »

As I'm starting to get into my build and will be soon playing the motor itself and installing my management and instrumentation, I have come to a point where I need to consider knock detection.

I know many of you run seperate knock detection systems but there isn't much out there on the BBS (or atleast that I could readily find) on which systems are the best.

Also, how many sensors do I really need to have and are there are any good mounting point for them? I want to make sure that as I get into the realm of self-tuning I'm not killing my pistons :).

Any thoughts on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

I've thought about getting the TurboXS Knocklight. A Knock Link or J&S Safegaurd are also good. J&S makes other things too.
