I just bought a 91 Legacy wagon. I noticed that the hibeam indicator on the dash is always on, even when the headlights are set to low beam. Also the driver's side headlight is very dim.
The red/white wire coming out of the harness for this headlight has been cut. The passenger headlight seems to be brighter than it should be, and when I disconnect the driver's side headlight bulb, it dims down a little to what seems to be a normal brightness. Now for some reason when I disconnect the passenger
headlight bulb with the dim driver's bulb still hooked up, the driver's side dim headlight bulb turns off.
Is this some grounding issue that I am having??

The headlights on these cars use a switch ground system. If someone has done some "modifications" chances are they messed this up.
