No more debt.

Post by Redlined »

I just bought myself an early birthday present.

I've had this loadstone around my neck for about 15 years. The last student loan I got for that farce of a school, may they rot in Hell.

I've refused to pay it off mostly out of spite. Ok. yeah. the loan company isnt to blame for the school. But, conversly, it was THIER money the school stole.

So. Beginning of this year I do my annual finances. Pay off a small debt, and realize that I only have one left in the stack. The student loan afore mentioned.

I've struggled with it for weeks. Finally today after getting off work. I checked my bank account, called them up, and payed the damn thing off.

I figured afterwords id feel better. I don't, my stomach hurts.

But, I've broken the last shackle and tossed off the last chain. I am, as of now. Debt free. (and yes I know. month to month bills, groceries yadda yadda yadda).

On the up side. I bought a set of Glass Headlamp pods for Angel. Been looking for a long time and I'm happy and excited on that front.

And now.... I think... I'll have a beer.

Good work man. Sucks you had to drag it out due to spite, and its too bad you were in a situation to feel that way. But being debt free makes it worth it, hopefully. My goal is to pay off my credit card in the next few months!

If the contract at work gets renewed, I'd hope to get my debt(other than the mortgage) paid off by sometime next summer...

I can't wait!
