EJ20G headbolts and flywheel size question

Post by mike-tracy »

Are EJ25D head bolts acceptable to use on 20g block/20g head combo?

Also is the EJ20G factory flywheel the same size as the EJ22T or an 02-05 WRX flywheel (as far as contact patch is concerned)? I ordered an 02-05 WRX clutch kit and have an EJ20g flywheel on hand.

Thanks,
Mike

Should be good on both counts.

Lay the clutch disc over the flywheel and compare surface contact. The pressure plate will bolt on just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I'm off to find EJ25D head bolts thursday. I downloaded an FSM for a 93-96 Impreza WRX, and the clutch specs are: (ODxIDxThickness): 225x150x3.5 MM, while the USDM WRX is 230x150x3.5.

Course I'll have to wait to see if my clutch kit and my EJ20G flywheel match up, as it weighs in the 11lbs range, so I'm thinking it's not stock.
