Swapping EJ22 an Automatic to a Manual

Post by LegyC-LegyDO »

The Cars: 1992 Legacy L wagon w/EJ22 automatic transmission (125,000miles) AND 1992 Legacy L wagon w/EJ22 manual transmission (379,000m)

I want to swap the motor from the the automatic to the manual.

I suspect it will be easy, but will I need anything to make the engine from the automatic match up to the manual transmission?

ALSO: Both motors are mounted and running in the cars. Do I need anything else?

firstpost, thank you

That is a direct swap. Are you going to swap the high mileage (kmage?) motor back into the auto? :D

No I am just going to take it apart, at least keep the block -if it checks out.

As Mike mentioned, you should be good to go with the swap. You'll need to swap over the flywheel from the old manual motor, but that's really all I can think of.
