Coolant Temp location

Post by Jr.SubaruLvr »

Where is this sensor located? I cant seem to find it. The Chiltons i have is pretty useless in describing the location of this piece. Is this sensor prone to failure?

Many other pics of various sensors here......I went picture crazy on purpose, just for these reasons.

the big one is the one used by the engine. The little one is used by the gauge and not the one you need to replace or worry about.

Legacy777: True, but the little one is cheap and easy to install. Your in the area anyways. It doesnt effect how the vehicle runs though.

yeah you can get to it.....it's a little tight, but you should be able to get it replaced. You may end up with some coolant leaking....but no biggy.

If you are quick you wont loose much coolant either. A 12 sided deep socket will help substantially BTW.
