Anyone know what would cause it to stick and not close?
It was closed fine the first time I put gas in it, and now the little latch that the door holds onto seems to be stuck inside...
Is there a spring inside the trunk I can dig at to get it to poke out again?
The car looks nice but with that door swung out it looks bad

I found the cause of mine doing that was the handle inside the car wasn't / isn't going back down. So I push it myself for now. I also lubed the pin a bit, but I'm not sure how much that helped.

yes i have that very same problem. I've had it for about 4 months and it has become a nusiance. Every time i would fill gas the spring loaded pin would not "pop" out. I have to open my trunk take out the side carry all box and push that pin out with my hands. I think i will be removing that piece altogether and fabricate something that will work.

I got the pin pulled back out, luckily I filled the tank so I don't need to go back in there.
I'll just be spraying the good ole penetrating oil on the cable whenever I get a chance...
Damn winter light hours, I get home at 5pm and it's already dark!!!
hard to work on things without a garage

I have a sedan trunk release for my gas lid on my wagon as it's the only matching color handle the original owner could find to replace the broken original handle. Works fine, so I imagine different years wouldn't matter.
