Newer Intake Manifold?

Post by Baddog »

Does anyone know if a newer intake manifold will work on the N/A EJ22? Newer as in 95-99.

Anyone? It looks the same as my 96 one but I am curious about sensor placement. And also the 92 Automatics don't have an EGR valve like mine. SO I am assuming I would need one off a new automatic.

Anyone used a newerish intake manifold on the early generation N/A 2.2?

None of the 90-94 2.2 Legacies had EGR valves. The newer 2.2's had EGR valves on the AT's not the MT's.....at least that's what I've read on the interweb.

Regarding the use of the newer intake manifold, I'm not sure. I know the wiring is slightly different on the Impreza 2.2's. It runs off the back vs. coming behind the battery. The Legacy may be the same and run behind the battery.

You may want to the check on the USMB regarding fitment of the newer 2.2 manifolds on the 90-94 heads.
