is there a good complete t belt kit you guys are using? i wanna do water pump, oil pump, t belt and as many gaskets as i can while im in there. is it best to just piece together all the part numbers and order it all through subaru directly, or is there a better, cheaper solution? i dont want crap, but id like to save some money if its a safe buy.
if someone has all the part numbers for everything involved, i would appreciate it a ton.

Personally, I prefer using Subaru parts, and if you go that route, there's not really any "kits". Others have used some of the kits off ebay with good luck.
As for part #'s, you can d/l the parts book from me, and it has all the part #'s you'll need.

Re: t belt kit ?'s
I have used Gates kits with no issues.
Re: t belt kit ?'s
I've used the Import Experts on ebay, based out of Yakima, WA. Search under Subaru Timing belt kits and they should show up. For T-belt and pulley kits, the EJ22 turbo and NA are the same; WPs are not.
Also, the '91 turbo WP is different (same as WRX) than the '92-94 turbo WPs....heads up.
Last edit...i hope....the ebay kit is OK for the T-belt and pulleys. I'd look to Subaru for the seals, water pump, T-stat/gasket.

Re: t belt kit ?'s
ok, so if I were to do water pump, oil pump, and timing belt, what are all the gaskets and seals to do the job correctly? what do you guys replace when you do it? is there a thread with all the required parts? i downloaded that parts catalog, that is really helpful identifying things and putting a part number to it, i just want to know what the norm is for the WP/TB job
Re: t belt kit ?'s
I don't know if there's there's a specific thread with all the parts, since everyone may do it differently.
I'd suggest timing belt, idler pullies/gear (if needed), timing belt tensioner, front cam seals, rear pass cam o-ring (if you have a turbo, there are two other o-rings you should probably replace, and when removing that back cover you will have to remove the banjo bolt which has two copper washers...they can probably be reused, but something to know about), lastly front crank seal and the o-ring between the oil pump & engine block. You will need some permatex ultra grey silicone to reseal the oil pump. Also, using some blue locktite on the oil pump back plate screws is recommended so they don't back out.

Re: t belt kit ?'s
thanks a ton bro.
Re: t belt kit ?'s
Just a side note, I work at a Carquest store so of course I get my parts there because of my discount. I'm finding Carquest will OE source a lot of parts for unusual cars like ours. So you can get a bit of a price break on things like the waterpump and t-stat and get actual OEM parts. I bought a vapor canister recently too and though it came in a normal Carquest box the canister had Subaru molded into it and looked identical to my old one... just about 5 pounds lighter lol!
