changing wiring loom
how hard would this be to do. putting air-con in a non air con car and if i ned to do all the wiring it might be just easier to replace the loom with one from an air con equipped car. any thoughts

Very hard.
There's wiring all over the %^&# place. If you get a copy of the factory wiring manual you might be able to do it, since it shows you where all the harnesses go and where the connectors are, but it would be very hard to follow.
I would strongly suggest just adding the wires you need. Most connectors on the car allow you to insert pins which weren't there stock.
A bonus of that method would be that you would know where all the new wiring was, so that when the time comes to troubleshoot it you'll be able to follow it more easily.
