Newer timing belt tensioner

Post by Splinter »

Hey guys, long time no talk. I'm going to be putting an ej22e in my Brat, just rebuilding the motor right now.

I don't like the old style slider tensioners and I've got a bunch of parts from phase 2 motors, any reason anyone knows of that I can't use the new tensioner assembly with the ej22e heads/cam gears? I'd assume I'd use the newer timing belt. I'm just not 100% sure the cam gears are the same for tooth count/cut....

You should be able to use the older style timing belt with the newer style timing belt tensioner and tensioner bracket. As long as you use the newer bracket that tensioner mounts to, you should be good.
