batery keeps dying

Post by Falken-18c »

does any one have any idea some reason my batery keeps dying.
so i bought a new altenator thinking it wasnt charing the batery. but it still dyes.
so i dont know if it could be a ground? are i also heard a starter will drain your batery?

i know a couple weeks ago i had to boost my car off the starter.
so maybe it is the starter but im clueless i just wanna get my car going.

It really could be anything. Do you have a car alarm installed? Only way to know what is killing it is to bust out a multimeter and start looking for parasitic draws while the car is off. Either that or you battery is going out.

thanks for the help but yea ill have to look into it it this week.
ill have to take a day off work to try to fix the problem.
also no car alarm. hmmm i have a spare starter ill just try that first.
hopfully that fixes the problem but if not ill do as you say bust out a multimeter.
i think i have a couple batery's laying around so ill try another one too. maybe the old altenator
killed the batery and it wont keep a charge. I dont know sh!t lol.

I saw a really good writeup a while back on hunting down parasitic draw but I can't remember what the method was and where the article was. Search for how to find parasitic draw on nasioc or google or youtube.
