rebuilt auto tranny trouble....

Post by 91White-T »

Sigh... I just spent 2100$ to get my tranny rebuilt, spent almost 3 weeks in the shop, just got it back earlier last week, just to find out that the front wheels are the only ones spinning. I just found this out since we just had some snow today, plus its been torque steering and spinning the wheels on dry pavement. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this besides that I got screwed by Aamco Transmission, I'm planning on going back tomorrow to see what I can do...

Is there a fuse in the FWD circuit? If so, that's why...

Run the transmission diag procedure. Instructions are on my site.

See if anything pops up. The Duty C solenoid controls power going to the rear wheels, aka the line pressure.

They possibly might have forgotten to plug this in, or something.

Any rate.....take it back to the SOB's and tell them to fix the thing....and do it right!!

sounds like an electrical problem (isnt that wierd??) try takin a voltage meter to the bugger just to check it out. sigh...newfangled technology...

personally, i would go back and flirt with the mechanic, and if that didnt work, be a demanding jerk. The more you know about the problem, the better. You paid for a working 4wd tranny, and thats what you should have. And dont tell them you are burning rubber, its just a bad idea.

An easy check. Jack up one of the front wheels and both of the rears and see what happens.
