Eagle Rods side clearance

Post by randomiam »

Hey guys.. I began assembling the bottom end of the motor tonight and I was checking the clearances and the side clearances are below that of .05mm-- Service manual recommends a range of .07-.33

As for the actual clearance, I'm gonna have to dig around for the room mates set and see if his go further down.

Has anyone had to shave some off these rods prior to use?

Eagle H beams 5.137

I'll measure them vs the stock in the AM. Perhaps I'm just due for sleep.

I take that back, having looked at them again and used a different set.. it's slightly more snug but nothing to lose sleep over.

Yeah, they should be fine. I know when I put mine together to plastigauge them, they were a tight fit on the bearings. Once they were lubed up, they were ok.
