Trying to remove radio

Post by jamgramet »

Hi All, I have a 92 legacy & am trying to remove the radio. I took out the cup holder which allowed me to remove two screws. I took out the ash tray at the bottom of the console. Tried to pull off the console trim but something's holding it in at the bottom, in the ash tray area. But I can't see any screws for love nor money. Any ideas?

Remove the ashtray (you pull it out, then press down on the center springy portion, and then pull it the rest of the way out) and then feel around the area above where the ashtray was. You'll feel the heads of two Philips head screws there. You'll need a very stubby screwdriver or one with a 90-degree offset to get at them.

Dear vrg3 - awesome, thanks for the clear instructions. Worked like a charm and saved me quite a bit of grief.

You're welcome. Glad it helped.
