Hey folks, I was wondering if in order to complete an AWD conversion, if I could just buy an entire rear subframe like the one listed here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-SUBARU-WRX- ... cb&vxp=mtr
According to Legacy777's AWD conversion parts list, that would be it. I'm wondering why people then aren't encouraged to purchase entire subframes in order to facilitate the swap.
I understand that I would still need to secure a transmission with a matching differential, driveshaft, and TCU. Aside from those parts and the addition of a heatshielf/awd axle back, would I be missing anything?

Drive shaft are different, cross member, gas tank as said above.
On another note welcome and thankyou for doing some research and looking at Josh's thread. I would spend more time researching and if you have questions then, come back. It's never as easy as it would seem unless you have a donor car too.

Some people may not swap the whole assembly at once because they may not have a lift or might not want to hassle with a jack while laying under a car.
That link you posted is cool, but that's pretty expensive. I have some of those parts for sale in one of my threads. I have an AWD subframe with lateral links and trailing arms for I think 75 is what I listed. So something to think about.
