Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
So i have looked around, and didnt really see a real answer for my build, but i got lots of sti short blocks laying around, and im just going to use the stock turbo for the 91 leg, i can get anything i want for the build, just want to be sure ITS GOING TO WORK. i heard somewhere that i need thicker head gaskets.
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
That combination will give you 10:1 compression.
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
that too much it sounds like, with the sti only having about 8:1, so i just need to lower the crap out of my compression,
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
The STi also has a 54cc combustion chamber, ej22t has 40/41cc depending on where you read. Your best option in terms of heads (if you want to keep phase 1 heads and a nice low compression ratio) is a pair of 96 ej25d heads and intake manifold. The 96 only hla heads also have 54cc combustion chambers like the STi and all your ej22t sensors and accessories will swap right over. You will want to have a bigger turbo than the vf11 for this motor though.
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
Humm is there a adapter plate I could get so I can use sti heads with out changing intakes
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
If i could use the still heads I would just really don't want to mess around eith rewiring
Re: Ej25 Sti short block With Ej22t heads?
You could cut and weld the manifolds together but that would be a complete cluster f* and would probably never, ever, run right. It would be far easier to just find 96 heads and any 96-99 ej25d intake manifold.

yea, doesnt sound fun, i decided that i was just going to do a full STi swap
