ok this is whats going on in my turbo legacy, 3 pistons have holes in them. should i put factory subaru pistons or go get crazy race pistons. so the motor is geting a full rebuild what can i do more for more power. the list of parts i have is a 1.8turbo motor 2.5rs motor and some other things from subaru. so what other parts can i mix and match for my motor to be the best i can get anything from subaru.

I think if you want the most power go with some custom pistons. The stock pistons are really good even for increased power, and they have better operating temperature.

Personally for my engine build I decided to stay with stock pistons and use gapless rings on them for increased power!

Other than getting headwork and replacing using roller rockers the only internal mod is the gapless rings.

how about a diffrent intake manifold from a newer or older modle, that is bigger or better then the origanl. what do u mean gap less rings. will they last longer, and make more power. where can i bye these rings and what do roller rockers help out on.

The gapless rings help to seal the cylinder better. Normal rings have a gap, allowing some of the energy to leak into the crank.

Roller rockers help in a couple different ways. The most noticable is less HP loss into the valvtrain. Normally the valves are actuated by metal to metal contact. This replaces the contact point with a small wheel.

I dont think the intake manifold is the bottle neck. A few different sources have agreed that the head is the first restriction.

ciper where can i bye these gapless rings, and the roller rockers. also my heads have bin port&polishes long time ago, so it matches the gaskets. there was a lot of metal removed, and nifed the intake side edges. i was just wondering if there was a better intake manifold, becuse i was thinking it could be improved, but its not important so i will leave it alone.

can i bye that stuff in canada, or get my dealer to order it for me from the states,

Here is one that I want to try and use

As for the rollers you need to find a donor head. I suggest checking/replacing the hydrolic lifters.
