gasket matching

Post by bcmaxx »

While I have my engine torn down, what can be gasket matched, what shouldnt be touched? The head exhaust ports are tiny compared tto the flame rings on the gaskets, can these be opened up, or am I messing with an unseen force here?

I don't know if you've gotten this answered in another thread or have already put the motor together, but I would recommend not messing with the heads unless you're going to have them fully ported & polished.

What Josh said. I spent hours, upon hours working my head ports. I don't know if I would do it again since it takes so much time. Once you start there is no turning back.

These were taken at different stages of the job. The heads are 1998 EJ25D's.
