Update, yesterday whilst at a motor race circuit another Subaru enthusiast looked at my Legacy sunroof and immediately diagnosed the likely problem as rust in the sunroof tracks - he reckoned the effort to turn the sunroof with the emergency handle was too great and should be 1 finger pressure.
My sunroof has always been slow and when using the handle quiet stiff to turn, do I need to remove the whole unit to access the track that runs inside the tubing?
Or can I find an access point other than where the motor locates into the track to pump in freeing fluid.
Anyone undertaken this task?
Please see photo of the metal tubing containing the track below
Spent 3 hrs this am removing the sr motor spraying silicone onto the 30mm of cable then refitting , repeating actions every 30mm , net result slightly smoother action when wound on handle but just clicking of relays when sr switch operated . Too old/ tired to continue today.
