How about a totally black grill, even on red/blue/white car?
Someone with photoshop want to try this? Ive seen other cars with solid black paint grills and it looked great. I wonder how it would blend in on ours. 90-91 body style with Honeycomb prefered

All-black grills are sweet. Not only are they hardcore, they just kinda "blend in" and let the rest of the car take the attention. Not to mention, if it's flat paint, it makes just a nice dark area between the headlights without a bunch of gleaming to draw your attention.
Did that on my old 71 Ranchero and it looked badass.

How lucky are you! my car is ls so it's got the honeycomb. I'll see if I have a pic, if not I'll take one tomorrow.ciper wrote:Someone with photoshop want to try this? It looks a lot better from far away. Kinda like those women with butterface, ya know, nice from afar, but far from nice

I'm going to try to get one from a junkyard and hollow it out like the WRC cars. I love the hollowed out grille on my '84 (of course I had teeth in it too).

here's some in the garage:

It's starting to get chips because I dont think I put clear coat on it. I did it with vinyl coloring. That stuff is perfect for changing the color of plastic stuff because it doesn't add a layer, it actually dyes the colors. Doesn't work so well on other types of materials though. It's actually the same stuff I sprayed the side moldings with.
I'll try to take some far away shots tomorrow

It's not the honeycomb one, but it gives you an idea of what the black grill would look like on a white car:

Wasn't it only the early LS that had the honeycomb? I've been looking for one myself for the same idea. Once spring hits again...

Steve, i think you're right. Thanks! But as far as I can tell the grill was't painted. Looks as though it's just black plastic.

Those images look better than I expected.
boostjunkie: Dont like the yellow badge. What lights are you using and how are you doing turn signals?
LaureltheQueen: When you want an open space. The L model grills and the later designs sort of suck for this. The honeycomb one looks the best after you remove the internals.

Yeah, I know. It's the "prancing rabbit" STi badge.
The fogs are a set of catz dual fog/driving lamp. Not sure about the model number. Adam rigged a set of LEDs into the sidemarkers for turn signals.
