I'm pretty sure the 2.5L phase 1 and 2's have the same injector setups are our injectors, right?

I just did the mod to a 1992 Legacy injector last night! The cover plate had 4 holes in it and underneath it was the pintle -- I'm pretty sure it would flow much higher than stock EJ22T injectors. It won't fit in stock turbo fuel rails, so the rails would have to be swapped too.
I've also been playing some with some MkIV Supra twin turbo injectors and fuel rails. It looks like a little cutting and brazing could adapt the Supra rail to our cars. The square ring between the rail and the manifold will have to be different because the Supra bosses are a bit smaller. But these are 550cc injectors, and I got a set of 6 for $100 and a rail for $25.

You're full of good news, vrg3!! I really need to get my arse to a junkyard to take a look at all of the possible fuel injectors out there.

I meant "using" as in "using to experiment with."
RC seems to be not responding to me... some other smaller injector companies have given me quotes between $16 and $25 per injector... Plus shipping. Seems pretty expensive, so I think I'm just gonna test them myself. I took a passenger-side fuel rail and put an FPR on one end and the short pipe that normally goes to the rear end of the driver side rail on the other. Then I attached about 4 feet of fuel injection hose to each end. My plan is to install the injectors to test in this rail, disconnect my fuel inlet and return hoses and attach these instead, then jumper my fuel pump on, and then power the injectors for one minute and measure the volume they flow into a container.

Oh man, I will be all over this if it works out! Will the fuel rails be an easy swap?

I know for me....it was far easier to remove the whole manifold to swap the injectors......I just don't care for gas dumping all over my engine......I tried it without removing the manifold and got frustrated. Plus the rails didn't exactly line right up, so it made things a little more difficult. You needed to tighten the lines to the rails, and then tighten the lines down to the manifold.
$25 is what RC eng charges i believe, and that's pretty normal for flow test and B&B.
You may want to email marren motorsports http://www.injector.com/ A buddy of mine in PA uses them.

Thanks, Josh. I'll drop them a line.
I think I still want to do my homemade test first just to make sure they work and don't leak. It'd be really dumb to send them off for expensive tests and get a report back saying they leaked when closed. :)
I found it pretty easy to swap rails with the manifold in the car, but I didn't care about spilling fuel. :) I also replaced the little piece of hose going from the FPR to the return hard line, so I could just cut it to pull the rail out. 5/16" fit well if I remember correctly.

Hello there Legacy crowd.
RC charged me $10.00 a piece to flow test only. Marren wanted $25.00 a piece.
Do the ones I modded look familiar to anyone, because I was told the intake I have came off a Legacy but they didn't know exactly what year. They guessed a 1997. I know the intake fits on my DOHC heads.
Cheers, Tod
