Shortblock Oil Squirters

Post by FutureSTIer »

I am intrigue by the oil squirters on the ej22t block but I had some questions, if I decide to do a shortblock ej22t swap into a RS will the squirters work? If not, what do I need to get them working? Will I have to swap in the ej22t longblock with the heads? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

Squirters are part of the short block - actually screwed in - and have nothing to do with the heads.

so the squirters run on their own, do they need some type of assemply, lines to an oil pump? I'm taking I need a Legacy Turbo Oil Pump to run them or is my thinking way off?

An ej22t short block should have them already - they tap into the oil passages. I would assume you'd want a turbo oil pump for it anyway, but anything that pushes oil through the engine should get them to work, whether you'd get enough pressure with anything else is another story.
