Functional Pedal Kits?
It has been a while now since the rubber pedal covers fell off of my car and i was wondering if anyone had a company that made reasonably priced pedal kits that actually work? I want something that has some sort of grip on them, not like the ones you can find at the auto parts store. I was thinking of just using skateboard grip tape, but i don't think it will work very well. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I never slip on mine even after being in the snow. I have a old set that may have been made by OBX. They're like 7 yrs old, so I'm not sure if they make them anymore - they might only make rice ones now. Their simple alloy with two vertical rows of ~5/8" holes. They remind me of old race car pedals and are adjustable for better heel and toeing.

I had a set of the APC pedals in my truck (still do actually). Looked crappy and ghetto, but when my feet were muddy, I never slipped off of them.
I had a set of automatic pedal covers for my 95 for when my feet were really muddy (I spent many a day down at the river and such because of my environmental science background. A set of those big ass rubber floor mats and pedal covers. Nothing in the world is as slippery as mud from the Potomac River. If you were driving in the parking lot after a flood, you would be sideways more than straight.

Ben, there's a guy on our STi board who's actually making aluminum heel-toe gas pedals. Then just get a couple matching small pedals for your clutch and brake, and you've got a whole set.

Aluminum heel-toe gas pedals? How's that work? You just heel-toe, you don't need a special pedal...
I want to get one of those foot shaped gas pedals. That'd be sweet. Joe Dirt style. We had a foot on the high-beam "pedal" in our 85 F350. Not sure why, but it was sweet!

Here's my pedal set.

They help you heel & toe by getting the pedals closer together.

Ahh, I must have big feet then, lol. I can heel-toe just fine in the turbo legacy. Can't in the truck though, the pedals are at different heights and are a good bit off the floor.
I forgot I registered at imprezawrxsti.com, lol

Old OBX pedals like I mentioned above. Damn, you're just like a woman - you never listen to me (unless I say something that can be used against me or misinterpreted)!

Sweet, thanks for the replies. All i really need is a set to help me keep from slipping off the pedals when its raining and snowing, i don't need a huge pedal as i can already heel-toe the way they are now (more of a side side downshift though).

pick up some replacement pads, i got some off ebay 10 bucks for 2 oem... i dont like big clunky pedals. I had thos aftermarket rice pedals in once but they wouldnt allow me to properly press in the clutch also they were too wide in my opinion and if you werent right on target you may catch the brake pedal while you clutch.. which is never a good thing. I dunno how much pads would be from a dealer or one of those online stores but i figure they cant be too much. Maybe give subaruparts.com i've gotten a few things there that were cheap for oem.
