this started in the turbo section but got way of topic so i want to continue the discussion here. how much will the stock ej22ecu retard the timing if detination is detected if it will do anything at all? i did some searching on the site but there is so much and nothing is really gathered into one place on this topic.
as many of you know already im considering putting 2.2 heads on a 2.5 block to build i high CR N/A motor. kind of like the G2 rally golfs.
from what i have been told so far i could expect a CR of 12:1. i will have to get some measurements on the combustion chamber and cyl. volume. to get exact #'s then i would need to get an N/A emange system w/a some type of adjustable fuel pressure regulator at the minimum. then maybe injectors and a fuel pump.
how exactly does the emage setup work.
and just to check retarding the ignition timing means that the spark will happen a little later, right?
